Overview

The SmallRig 6640 Retro Street Photography Cage for DJI Osmo Action 6 dresses the Osmo Action 6 up as a classic rangefinder. A two-tone aluminium alloy frame pairs with a detachable brown leather case and matching stitching, so you can run the full retro look or just the metal cage, depending on the shoot.

The hinged top opens and closes like a film camera back, so the camera drops in without tools. The four-sided frame wraps the body, and a foam-lined interior helps absorb minor knocks and scuffs. A guide-slot design keeps the camera from wobbling, while the shutter button is extended outward with an accidental-press switch for a crisp feel. USB-C charging stays reachable with the cage on. At 128.5 g, or 180 g with the leather case fitted, it is easy to carry all day.

Grip & Mounting

• Right-side aluminium alloy grip with a leather finger rest, which stays out of frame in standard and wide-angle modes
• Spring-loaded cold shoe that takes the DJI Mic, optical viewfinders (SKU 6127, 5873 and 6172) and the video light (SKU 5446C)
• Magnetic bidirectional mount plate with a 1/4"-20 locating hole, suited to accessories such as the selfie stick (SKU 5463B)
• Strap slots on both sides for the included shoulder strap, worn at the neck or across the shoulder

Before You Fit It

Take off the camera's battery compartment cover before installing the cage; it stores in the cover slot on the cage. With the cover removed, avoid humid, rainy or other harsh conditions, because water could reach the charging port.
